The Blessing of Community

I  know it's been a while since I've posted. I'm doing well. I've been focused on learning my jobs and making friends.

It's wonderful to live in a community of committed believers. There's almost always someone on the piano or strumming a guitar and singing praise songs, sometimes in other languages. It is neat to hear familiar songs being sung in German, Korean, or Hungarian! I often see people praying together or engaged in serious conversation. Every Thursday night is Prayer Night. We spend three hours in worship and prayer, usually focusing on different ministries of Lifehope, but also on specific people, places, or issues.

While I enjoy this community, I would prefer a little bit of space of my own. I'm still living on base, sharing a dorm room with five other girls. Soon I should be moving into a flat nearby, but there have been some delays in finding a place for me. I am looking forward to having space to cook and bake and do my own thing.
